Why Some ccTLDs Can't Be Renewed Early or Instantly

Unlike most generic domains, some ccTLDs follow special renewal rules defined by their registries.
These rules may limit when a domain can be renewed and how the renewal is processed.

Below are common ccTLD renewal exceptions you should be aware of.


.fr, .es, .nl, .eu, .us, .fi, .at, .to, .pl, .sk, .ht
Renewal rule:
Please not these domain names will enter into redemption period 7 days before the expiry date.
Renewal is only allowed within 60 days before expiration. Early renewal is not supported by the registry.
To avoid entering redemption, we recommend renewing these domain names 8 to 30 days before the expiry date.

Renewal is processed in bulk by the registry. Only completed after the end of the expiration month.
